Though we have much talent and technology, unity is a large factor that would either destroy the country or allow the country to excel. Have you ever wondered how birds in the past ever looked like?? The dodo was a bird of the past but not even one complete dodo skeleton has ever been found!! Contacts are a great alternative to glasses but contacts do have some disadvantages!! It might damage the eye, trap foreign particles against the eye, breed bacteria or destroy the vision! One should remove the lens when one is going to sleep,should clean the lens regularly,should clean the storage containers, should use specified cleaning fluids and remove the lens before swimming!!There many precautions that one who uses lens have to take! Why take the risk?? I feel that one should wear glasses instead!

Some coffees have higher sugar content then coke!!I never knew that!! Some coffees contain up to 15 teaspoon of sugars!! Imagine if one takes those types of coffee daily! One would surely get diabetes at that rate. Frappe coffees is very fattening! It contains 2280 kj.This is a quarter of a persin's daily intake.Well I feel that everything has a limit! Coffee should not be taken too often and should be taken rarely. I feel that everything taken in the right proportion woud be fine.

Imagine if your dog were sick? Would u bring it for many scans and many check ups and spend much money on your dog? Well Mary did only to find a hole in her dog’s intestine. Her dog had to undergo an operation as well but in vain. Her dog had died. Though she had spent much on her dog she was not upset as she did everything she could to save her best friend. Well I have never had my own dog and thus would never know how it would feel to lose your dog. All I know that it is sad to lose someone or something close to you. On the other hand I think God had taken the dog because he did not want it to suffer.

Have you ever wondered why chest pains occurred? Well it might occur due to lack of oxygen. One should not work long hours and should not smoke as it makes the heart work harder, should exercise and should eat the right type of food. Many have died from heart conditions. By following the above doesn’t guarantee that you wouldn’t have heart conditions but the chances of one getting heart problems would be lowered. When one has heart problems one would suffer and might even die. Thus we should take preventives. Why would anyone want to suffer?? Who would have guessed that a boy would change your perspective of life?? Tom Arnold became friends with a boy called Eric who was his neighbour. Eric has cerebral palsy. He had a limp and one of his arms is a little cramped up. His father had given Eric much confidence and motivation that he could do anything he wanted though he was in that state. His father offered to fund the movie his son was in and so the movie The Kid and I came about. The picture seemed very much like Eric’s real life. Though doctors had once said that he probably would have trouble walking, talking and seeing he was not in such a terrible state. It was very hard for Eric to learn his lines but with much confidence and hard work he was able to do so. This made Tom realize if Eric can rise he can too. This article shows me that anyone can rise above with much confidence and hard work!! If Eric can do it I’m sure I would be able to rise as well!!

Who would have thought Mr. Meyer the president and chief operating officer of Universal Studios had once just another drop out?? He once had much difficulty getting a job because he had not much education. He worked as a busboy and short order cook. He cleaned grease off machineries and sold shoes as well. But no matter what job he had taken up he always worked very hard to be the best in it. Meyer then had a messenger job that included chauffeuring Paul Kohner, a successful agent who represented stars. He then learnt the business and got to know many people and he was also smart to make most of that experience. Meyer became his right Paul’s right hand man and slowly worked up to starting his own Agency and later was tapped to run Universal studios. Once he saw success he worked very hard to achieve it and to improve!! With the right attitude, mindset, confidence and much hard work one would be able to achieve their dreams.

Many a time students forge letters to get out of school. When students write letters most of the times they creatively write a story which is unlikely to occur. A pregnant mother was found to have cancer. She even thought she was going to die. She also was confused because the doctor had advice her to terminate her pregnancy. She did not want to abort because she was 34 and even if her cancer was cured she might not be able to be pregnant again. So she went ahead with the pregnancy and gave birth to a healthy baby boy. A mother’s love is so much so that her child’s life is more important than hers. I feel that the baby saved her life as if she had not been pregnant she would not have found out that she had cancer. I am glad that both mother and child are safe.

When one is a child one would surely cling onto ones' mother. The child would tag around its mother and would want it to accompany her everywhere. When the child becomes a teenager the story is different. The teenager would usually not want his/her mother to accompany him/her. He/she would rather want his/her mother to stay out of his/her life. Motherhood has its ups and downs. Being a mother seems to be a rather difficult job. The spinal nerves of rats have been successfully been regenerated. This would give us hope that humans’ spinal nerves can be regenerated as well. I am glad that we do have a hope of doing so. Proteins are used to regenerate them. We might be able to treat humans’ with damaged spinal cords. Though the proteins can help in the damaged spinal cords’ of rats this might not work in humans. Much analysis has to be done. If the proteins really do treat human spinal injuries many would be glad. I have known of many that have had spinal injuries due to accidents. These would indeed help those who have spinal injuries. I honestly hope that the treatment for spinal injuries would be found.

When food is scarce and violence is common many young girls are married off to older men. I feel that this is not good. Firstly a child of 15 to 18 years old getting married is ridiculous. I feel that she has to have a good education. Education can honestly solve many of their problems. Many a times the poor and the uneducated marry their daughters off at a young age. If educated I am sure this would not occur. Also the pregnancy can kill the young girls. I am against the fact that they are married off so early and are not given a chance to be educated. Alex a young girl had five tumours in her brain and the prognosis was dire but the doctor was not prepared to give up and was able to save her. I feel that not only did she suffer her parents as well suffered much. Imagine your own flesh and blood is in a dying state? How will one feel? If I were in their shoes I would have given up on Alex living but instead Alex’s parents kept on fighting and had much faith that she would survive. The doctor as well never gave up and continued fighting on saving her. I am really glad that she pulled through. Due to medical advancements and faith she survived and I am glad she did.

At the age of four and a half ha memorized the first eight volumes of a set of encyclopedias. Each of his eyes can read a separate paperback page simultaneously, absorbing every word in ten seconds and he never forgets it. He has memorized 9000 books, can predict the weather and has been likened to Mozart. He has musical abilities that are phenomenal and go beyond memorization. NASA is hoping to use modern advances in brain imaging and data fusion techniques to shed light on how his brain ticks.

Imagine if I were able to memorize everything I read and not forget anything. I would be able to score in all my examination easily. He is indeed very lucky to be such a genius. I am really shocked that though the doctors said that he was a retard he turned out to be a genius. Well this shows that the doctors are not always right. Though he might look a little intimidating he is very intelligent. Well, one cannot judge a book by its cover! He is very famous now due to his intelligence. I am glad that my friend, Esther performed CPR on a man who had a heart attack and collapsed somewhere around Holland village. I am really glad that she was brave enough to help him. I am so proud of my friend of trying to save a life. She had learnt first aid and thus was able to save him. The man might be brain dead if Esther did not help him out. He is now in the hospital and is fine. I am also glad all my other friends tried to help the man as well. Some prayed for him and another friend of mine went to call for a doctor. I am glad that my friends tried to their fullest to save him.

Have you seen many handicapped being able to move around easily in their wheelchairs? I am sure not. The Singapore government is considerate enough to place ramps to allow the wheel chair bounded to move around. Our aging population has indeed increased rapidly and thus the need to focus on the elderly has arised. Many aged people live on their own and some are wheel chaired bound so they have to be able to do jobs by themselves. By having ramps they would be able to move around by themselves and they would not be so dependent on other people. I am glad that the government is planning to build more ramps. This would definitely help the wheel chair bounded.

Have you been in a situation where by tuition teacher taught you something wrongly? I have! In my primary school days a tuition teacher taught me something wrongly and my parents spotted it out and she was fired. This occurred as my parents did not check out the tuition teacher’s certificates. Many Singaporeans trust the tuition agencies so much so that they do not ask to see the tuition teacher’s certificate. There is a possibility of the teacher teaching the child wrongly. Due to the technological advancements, in another three years time the patients need not suffer through the injections. In another three years time patients would breathe in the insulin and it would be absorbed and filtered into the bloodstream. The speed at which the insulin works is faster when this inhaler is used. I am glad that this inhaler would help patients very much. This inhaler would help patients with diabetes and have aichmophobia. Why are some children able to read books at the age of 3 while some are not? Well this really depends on parents. Parents are the key role in how children are brought up. Children listen and follow their parents. If parents tell their children not to mix with other races and only their race they would do so. This can lead to racial tension. If since a young a child is brought up in not mixing with the other races and when the child grows up his or her mindset would be difficult to change. Thus I feel that parents should teach their children about the various races and teach them to mix around with the various races. This would surely prevent racial problems to a certain extent.

I really feel sorry for the boy who died and his parents. Losing a loved one is a tragic thing indeed. I am very sure that his parents are mourning over his death. The boy should not have dived into the sea if he did not know how to swim. But I am really glad to know that Mr.Razib, an outsider, put in lots of effort save the boy but in vain. Though the boy did not survive Mr. Razib did put in much effort to find him Drowning incidents can be prevented if people who do not how to swim go into the sea with people who know how to swim. Well, I honestly hope that there are no more drowning incidents in Singapore. Deaths are unpleasant. They create an air of unhappiness around family members.

Anna and Oma were very good friends living in Canada. But Anna had to go to Indonesia and would not be able to see Oma again and so she gave her a photo of herself and left. Anna got married and had kids and never had contact with her friend ever again. Japan invaded Indonesia and Anna and her children got separated from her husband. Anna died in the concentration camp but her children survived. After many years, Aren one of Anna’s children, went to Canada and he met a women, Amelia and got married and had a child. One day Aren looked at the photo album and saw a picture of his mother in the photo album. Amelia’s mother, Oma then said that it was a picture of her friend. Both were surprised. Oma’s son in law was her friend’s son.

This article really surprised me. Though two good friends had to be in two different countries later on in life both their children got married. How coincidental can that be?? God has brought both their children together as Anna and Oma were not able to be together. Two friends had different destinies but God brought them closer together through their children. I am very glad that Oma is able to look after her friend’s son and I hope that they would be happy forever.

There have been some problems with some African men in Singapore. They seemed to have harassed some women and would drink and make a lot of noise. I am upset that some Africans are behaving inconsiderately in a foreign country. Some Africans also threatened an owner as well. Africans coming over to Singapore helps in the trading and thus boosts our economy. With advantages come disadvantages as well. Some Africans cause other problems like making noise as well. A Nigerian footballer who came over to Singapore saw a women pinching her nose and passing by him. This makes me really unhappy that there are some Singaporeans who are racist. In all I can say that though there are a few unpleasant events we cannot stereotype and judge Africans and they cannot judge us Singaporeans as racist.

I am very glad and proud to have known that two top cancer researchers from the United States have turned down competing offers from two top US institutes and instead have picked Singapore for a research lab. They would be setting up the research facilities at Biopolis in Buona Vista. Many top scientists have been attracted to Singapore as well. I think that the top researchers would be able to help in the nurturing of young researchers. They would also be able to help in the discovering of many medications for cancer as well. Once discovered, we might be able to use the medications as soon as possible. The top researchers coming over to Singapore helps in our economy as well. This thus makes me delighted that the two top researchers in cancer have chosen Singapore.

In Tokyo, robots would be able to take over the housework. Robots would be able to replace maids. They would be able to run many errands as well. There are many advantages of robots being able to take over the housework. We just have to tell them what to do and the work would be done perfectly. We do not need to tire ourselves by doing the work or allow maids in doing a bad job in what they are told to do so. On the other hand, robots allow us to become lazier. We would become so dependent on them and thus become lazy. But the usage of robots really depends on an individual. All technologies have their advantages and disadvantages and they all lie in our hands.

I was heartbroken to have read that many people had died due to the avian flu in many countries. The death of many would surely affect their family members. There are already many victims of suicide bombings and shootings in Iraq and this would be made worse if the bird flu affects this country as well. Bird flu is transmitted to humans from direct or indirect contact with infected birds.Though the avian flu have affected many lives, it has brought many countries closer together. Many countries have worked together in the prevention of this terror. I honestly hope that an end to this would be put and the many who have gotten infected with this flu would recover from it.
